Hailing from Cincinnati Ohio, Word Rat grew up in a family of musicians. Learning guitar at 10 years old, music was always a part of his life intermittently. He played in a few bands and in his mid 20's wrote a 5-song EP. Upon realizing his passion for ministry a shift happened. As the two passions merged he found himself playing in a metal band called Souls Awakened and pursuing his love of rap as a solo artist.
His first CHH album, the self-titled Word Rat released in 2021. Since then he has released a string of singles as well as a group effort with B-Ready Music Group. December of 2024 marks the release of his new EP titled "The Mission."
With a focus on solid theology, self-reflection, and reverence for God Word Rat bounces over the sometimes playful and sometimes poignant instrumentals with a finesse and flexibility that helps weave more than just a pleasant listen... It also calls the listener to a place of humility and worship for God.
